Jehane Ltd. has put together volume 2 of Caring Colouring, with the cover by Katherine Quinn (left) and featuring guest artists. All proceeds of the book will go to Sea Change Project in support of their vital work to protect the Great African Sea Forest, home to incredible wildlife and unique giant bamboo kelp. I'd love to see the place one day. It was already a wonderful experience to dive into the UK's kelp ecosystem around Farne Islands and meet seals underwater! Most of my diving has been in the warmer climes of Southeast Asia's coral reefs. I fell in love with the reefs of the Philippines during 4 months of volunteering on a scientific survey to identify the best places for marine protected areas. Later, during my years teaching scuba diving, I was proud to educate many people about the importance of protecting the reefs and showing them the beauty hidden below the waves. This colouring page is based on the marine life of the reefs.

Caring Colouring 2 celebrates the beauty of our oceans, life and connections to each other. There is a limited edition printed book with art by 47 artists including myself, or a downloadable PDF with art by 100 artists (as in the printed book plus lots more - print at home or colour on the iPad). I donated and downloaded, and it's a gorgeous book! So much fabulous art inside, and for such a good cause. Here’s a photo of one of my nieces colouring in beautifully on the page I created. Please join us in doing something special.

Protecting ocean ecosystems is vitally important for lots of reasons, including that most of the oxygen we breathe comes from the oceans. United Nations has described them as the lungs of our planet. There are also many fascinating and beautiful creatures living there, as I have noted with wide eyes while diving.

Here's a snapshot of my design being created. This is a progress image before I added the waves and final details.

UPDATE: Caring Colouring 2 is now sold out. If you want to donate directly to Sea Change Project, please visit seachangeproject.com.
