Hi there! I'm Sue, a British designer also known as Rocket & Indigo. The name comes from my love of plants, colour and amazing nature.

Previously I lived in tropical climes enjoying the underwater world as a scuba diving educator while keeping my creative juices flowing with plenty of design projects! These days I create patterns and illustrations full-time from my home studio in a pretty little English village between Liverpool and Manchester.

I find inspiration from my countryside surroundings as well as from my travel adventures. Fascination with nature and delight in the small details is translated into vibrant, cheerful patterns and illustrations to brighten people’s days. I especially enjoy drawing winged creatures, plants and food, unearthing fun facts while researching, and applying colour joyfully.

As well as designing, I also teach online classes to help other designers discover techniques and streamline their workflow. When I’m not creating patterns or teaching, you can usually find me swimming or trying out new recipes for home-grown fruit and veg.
